Volunteer Driver

The purpose of this post is to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of goods of goods and donations on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities

In liaison with the Business Development Team, to ensure prompt and courteous collection and delivery of donated goods and funds, by the agreement of a work-plan on a regular basis.

To be an ambassador for the Hospice by promoting and encouraging support for the work of Butterwick Hospice.  Maintaining courteous relationships with donors and customers.

To comply with Environmental Health and Fire Regulations within the hospice.

Responsibilities of Volunteers

To be aware of all Hospice policies and procedures relevant to the role, both existing and as they are reviewed.  To carry out duties and responsibilities in compliance with Hospice policies and procedures, current legislation and codes of conduct as applicable with an awareness of personal limitations.

To undertake the requirements of the role with an awareness of responsibilities under Health & Safety regulations.

To maintain good public relations and promote the Hospice philosophy of care in the wider community.

To provide support in the form of training/mentoring to other team members as appropriate.

To identify Training and Development opportunities, in conjunction with your manager and education co-ordinator and to take responsibility for ensuring mandatory training updates are completed within timescales.  To participate in personal training as may be necessary to meet the duties and responsibilities of the post.

To undertake such other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the importance and nature of the post. 

Requirements for the Role 

  • Business Insurance
  • Full Clean Driving License
  • Good understanding of the High Way Code

This role description reflects the present requirements of the post.  As duties and responsibilities change and develop, the role will be reviewed in consultation with the post-holder.
