Corporate Patrons of Butterwick Hospice
Cleveland Cable Company Ltd supporting the Hospice since 1998
Butterwick Hospice is £30,000 richer thanks to the generosity of leading Teesside business brothers Alastair Powell, Chairman and Managing Director of Cleveland Cable Company and his co- director, Mike. They donated the cash to mark the cable company’s 40th anniversary. It automatically made them the first ever Corporate Patrons of Butterwick Hospice, a new honour for businesses which have given the charity exceptional help.
Alastair said “Butterwick is a local charity and we’re a local business. I was born and bred in the area and want to do whatever we can to help such a worthwhile cause. We have a workforce of more than seven hundred people. All of them have heard of the Butterwick or will know someone who has been helped by the hospice over the years. I’m delighted to become the first hospice patron.”
The cash boost was a joint donation from the cable company and their other thriving business, The Keys bar, nightclub and restaurant in Yarm High Street. The Keys’ patrons were toasted by Alastair’s daughter Vicky. “Vicky added “It’s wonderful to be so closely associated with Butterwick. We do all we can to help them. It’s a local charity for local people doing such wonderful work.”
“So it’s Patrons all round and we couldn’t be happier,” said Butterwick Corporate Partnership Manager Anne Cooling. “This is incredible generosity from Alastair. He’s now our first ever corporate patron and we hope there will be many more in the years ahead.”
