Dying Matters Week 2017

Butterwick Hospice Care is a member of the Dying Matters Coalition which is a group of 32,000 organisations across the UK who are working together to try to raise public awareness about the importance of talking more openly about death, dying and bereavement.

Started by the National Council for Palliative Care, #DyingMattersWeek tries to challenge people’s reluctance to talk about these really important subjects.

At Butterwick during #DyingMattersWeek we try to start conversations with each other by sharing what is on our individual bucket lists. We create a poster where we can write a list of things we would like to do before we die.

We hang our completed posters in the dining room at the Hospice where we can all read them. Some lists are very revealing about who we are, some lists are very humbling, but the important thing is we are sharing ideas and talking to each other about what we would like to do before we die.

So get involved! Share this page, encourage your friends to download and print this poster, write your lists and join the #BigConversation!
