This shop is right in the centre of Stockton’s famous wide High Street. The shop covers two floors. On the ground floor, you can find clothing and accessories, toys and gifts, jewellery, CDs and DVDs.
On the 1st floor, you will find Butterwick’s dedicated book shop. There are thousands of fiction and non-fiction titles to browse so why not call in and take a look around? There is bound to be something to interest you.

Norton is one of our most popular shops. Situated at the wider end of the high street the shop sits within a distinctive listed building.
In the Norton shops, there is always a good selection of clothing and accessories, household linens, jewellery, toys, books, bric a brac, CDs and DVDs. If you wish to donate items to the shops Norton is one of the easier shops to get to with a car. Many high streets are unfortunately closed to cars and are difficult to park outside of but this high street offers parking space along most of its length.
Norton is a very popular place for shopping and socialising and the high street is very attractive.

1 Cinema Buildings, Mill Lane, Billingham TS23 1HE
Mill Lane is our longest serving shop. It has recently undergone a transforming upgrade which has opened up the shop so it feels much more spacious.
The shop is run by a friendly group of volunteers who have engaged with the community around the shop for many years.
Although this is not a large shop it is an Aladdin’s Cave of quality items.

Wrightson House, Thornaby Town Centre, TS17 9EP
Thornaby Town Centre shop is our largest store. It is a very popular stop-off with local shoppers, who will find the full range of goods sold by Butterwick Hospice on sale here.
There is a wide range of bric a brac, crockery, jewellery, and gifts. Accessories such as shoes, hats and bags, scarves and gloves and clothes for all ages are sold.
There is always a display of furniture for sale from small side tables to three-piece suites. There is a large selection of books and other items to keep everyone entertained such as toys, games, jigsaws, music and movies.

This is a spacious shop situated in Linthorpe Village at the top of Linthorpe Road, It supports Butterwick House Hospice and is part of a group of independent shops that serve this area of the town.

The Butterwick shop in the centre of Cockerton Village, on the outskirts of Darlington, is a busy shop which has a lot of regular customers who keep the shop well stocked with donations as it is one of the easiest shops to park behind. This shop is in the main street in Bishop Auckland and of course, supports the services provided by our Hospice in the town and also supports the Outreach Hospices in Weardale.

Star Buildings, Star Yard, Barnard Castle DL12 8LY
Barnard Castle shop is one of our largest and most successful stores. A very popular place to visit with local shoppers and visitors alike.
The shop is very easy to access as it adjoins Morrison Supermarkets carpark so it is very easy to drop off donated items there.
The shop is on two floors and it carries the full range of goods offered by Butterwick Hospice.
This shop supports Butterwick House Children’s Hospice but also advertises the events taking place in the town in support of the Outreach Hospice in the town’s Richardson Hospital which runs two days each week and also in support of the Palliative Home Care Team who support hospice patients in their own homes.

We are currently in need of additional volunteers for our shops. If you can spare a few hours a week, please get in touch with your local community shop. Please if you can, remember and support us online through our online shop and Ebay.
Here you will find details of where our shops are and be able to find the closest one to you. The shops are open Monday to Saturday every week. Most are open 9 am to 5 pm but some of the smaller shops such as Mill Lane keep slightly shorter hours. You can also learn a little more about the kind of goods you will find on sale in each shop.
Butterwick Hospice Care has introduced Gift Aid to its High Street shops so now when you are buying or donating why not ask about Gift Aid? This is a FREE scheme that allows all taxpayers who are donating to add Gift Aid to their donation. This increases the value of your donations by 25% adding very valuable funds towards hospice care for local people. If you are donating your goods please ask about Gift Aid. While you are shopping for items instore, look for the green Gift Aid labels on our goods. These items have had Gift Aid added to them. They don’t cost you any more but when you buy them the Charity can claim an extra 25% in value from the Inland Revenue. Ask in our shops for details of how to join the Gift Aid scheme.

Returns
Butterwick Hospice Care offer a “no quibble” 30 day returns guarantee, so you can buy safe in the knowledge that you can return your goods for a refund, should you wish to do so. The buyer must pay the postage.
