Community Groups
Below are some suggestions for activities you could organise to both increase your footfall and raise much-needed support for your local Hospice. The possibilities are as broad as your imagination, so get creative! We can support you and your activity with posters, tickets and T-shirts and can promote your event through our website and social media.
Charity Night: You can theme it, insist on a fancy dress theme or simply provide music & nibbles, the choice is yours.
BBQ: This can be a stand-alone event or part of a bigger activity.
Family Fun Day: A great event for a Bank Holiday! It can include simple traditional family activities, such as a sack race, egg & spoon race, coconut shy, or a more elaborate event with fairground rides, bungee jumps, traditional pub games etc..
Charity Quiz nights: Can be regular quiz nights in their own right, or a contest with a grand finale. How about some inter-pub rivalry with another hostelry?
Give A Gift Day: A great way to encourage your regulars to support Butterwick House. Simply display our posters and be a collecting point for donated tombola and raffle prizes on a given day – we are always in need of these to boost our fundraising activities!
Race Night: Have you organised these in the past? How about a Dog or Camel Race Night instead of the usual gee-gees!
Blind Cards Are a great fun way to raise money. We can supply you with a generic blind card that you can use with any prize, themed cards for seasonal fundraising, and if you become a Butterwick Community Supporter we will provide you with the prizes too!
Eat Like A King: A great theme for a raffle! The winner gets the opportunity to eat & drink like a king (or queen) for the day: free food and drink all day! You can put your own limitations in the terms and conditions (e.g. £50 limit, not weekends or Bank Holidays etc. – we can help with the terminology). We can help with the legalities of running a raffle and support you to ensure you have a successful event.
Collection cans: Maybe you could display one of our collection boxes—every pound really does have an impact on the lives of the people we care for and their families, so thank you from the families of Butterwick Hospice
Good Beer Guide Challenge: Can your pub regulars visit EVERY pub in the Good Beer Guide in 365 days?
Pint to Pint: Walk from your favourite watering hole to another, enjoying pints at every stop in between!
Display our posters: We always need new outlets for our own posters. If you’d like to display posters to promote our events and challenges please let us know.
Many people will thank you for supporting Butterwick House Hospice; many more won’t have the opportunity to do so; but it will be their families and the and families to come (who may be your own family, friends, colleagues and neighbours) that will be grateful for the funding your establishment provides.
