Our Charity Coffee Morning held on Sunday 19th June 2016 at Benridge Farm, near Blackhall raised a total of £1,156.53

This was divided between our two chosen charities – Butterwick Hospice & Cancer Research UK.

The idea came about after our very good friend Margaret Steel spent time in Butterwick Hospice Stockton & we were so impressed at the amazing care she received while in the hospice that we decided to raise some funds in her memory.

We had fantastic support on the day, between 10.30am & 2 pm approximately 80 people had dozens of cups of coffee & ate many slices of cake (all homemade)!

We had great help from friends & family (Dorothy & Irene) baked cakes for days beforehand but a very special mention must go to Julie Pitchers & her Granddaughter Niamh (aged 8) between them they made & decorated dozens of cupcakes!

Kate Lovegreen at her first attempt at lemon drizzle cakes! These were a great hit!

We not only sold many portions of cakes on the day we also made cakes & boxed them up for people to buy & take away with them.

Our raffle made nearly half of the donation money as people who couldn’t make it on the day bought tickets as a way to donate.

Jeremy Bird & Barry Alderson got creative with some timber from a fallen tree! Barry’s table made £50 through a sealed bid auction & Jeremy sold several of the wooden mushrooms (however we did not sell the cat!!)
