What a fab children's bereavement group night we had on 24th May, when our dear friends at Hobbycraft, Teesside Park, sent brilliant crafter Dawn, back to the Hospice to work with the children and young people in our busy group.

This was arranged as part of our celebrations for #ChildrensHospiceWeek. We had chosen a theme of Carnival and Hobbycraft despatched Dawn with superb face masks, paints, sequins, jewels and much more, to help our young visitors create splendid carnival masks.

Everyone enjoyed the experience, somehow Dawn managed to keep all of the paint on the table, the masks and the children and not on the floor!

Our wonderful volunteers Maureen and Steve, had a lovely time helping our youngsters to build their designs and a very happy couple of hours was had by all.

We would like to give a great big hug and thank you to Hobbycraft who are so supportive of Butterwick House Hospice. Every time we invite them to take part in a big celebration they jump to it. We are really grateful for their support.

As well as sending Dawn with arm fulls of craft materials they have also donated £100 worth of craft materials to Butterwick House for our patients to enjoy and have been all dressed up in carnival costumes in the store while they raised money with a tombola just inside the door of the popular store.

The children and young people in the hospice and the bereaved children's group get so much enjoyment out of the crafts materials that Hobbycraft donate to Butterwick. The team there are really helping to add quality to the lives of children who use the Hospice service.
