“The University has a deep rooted partnership with Butterwick Hospice from student nursing placements and collaborative research into pain management, to myriad fundraising activities undertaken by students and staff to support the work of the Hospice. We are privileged to support the incredible legacy of card which stems from the vision of Mary Butterwick, one of our most treasured honorary graduates.”

Butterwick Hospice is a well-loved local charity which provides specialist pain and symptom control, complementary therapies, counselling and bereavement care to adults and children suffering from life limiting illnesses. The charity also provides supportive services to patient’s families and friends. All of these services are provided free of charge.
We rely heavily on the support of the local community and business sector to help fund these services which cost the charity over £4Million per annum. Butterwick Hospice help over 2,200 people each year and with your support we can reach even more people. An example of what your donation could mean to us is below:
- If you were to become a Corporate Partner your donation would help fund one week of day care for a child, enabling children and their families to make the most of every moment
- A Corporate Supporter donation would enable us to fund one month of counselling for a child through a variety of services including one to one counselling, group/family sessions, sibling support and our children’s bereavement group.
- Butterwick Hospice host regular networking events throughout the year for our Partners and Supporters, allowing you to meet Hospice staff and build long lasting business relationships with like-minded business people.
