In this Privacy Policy ‘Butterwick’ means Butterwick Limited, Registered Charity No: 1044816, Company Registration No: 2979587, incorporating Butterwick Hospice in Stockton, Butterwick House Children’s Hospice and Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland and/or Butterwick Hospice Retail Limited and/or Butterwick Lotteries Limited.

Butterwick Hospice Retail Limited, Company Registration No: 2775096, Registered in England & Wales, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Butterwick Limited as is Butterwick Lotteries Limited, Company Registration No: 3141067, Registered in England & Wales. Both of these companies trade on behalf of Butterwick Limited, Registered Offices, Butterwick Hospice, Middlefield Road, Stockton on Tees, TS19 8XN.

Personal Information

You may be asked to supply personal information in certain sections of the Butterwick Hospice web site. Personal information means anything that helps us to identify you, such as your name, address or email address.

If you supply this information we will not pass it on to any third party. All personal information supplied will be used by Butterwick Hospice for the purpose it was supplied. All data is held securely.

We may collect and record information to help us understand how our web site is used. If at any time you wish us to remove your personal information from our records you can request this by writing to our database controller at our fundraising office. There is an opportunity to send feedback on our web site from each page and we welcome constructive comments. We may occasionally ask you to complete a survey to help us understand your perceptions or preferences. If you choose to help us by using these facilities the personal information you provide will only be used for the purpose it was intended.

If you use the web site to request more information about a particular service or event the personal information you provide will only be used to answer your enquiry.

You may be given the opportunity within a survey or request for information to add your personal information to our database to enable us to communicate with you about events, developments and news from the Hospices. By giving us this information you will then give us permission to contact you. You may choose the form in which this contact takes, however, where possible we would be grateful if you would include your email address as sending information this way saves postage costs.

Financial Information

In order to process credit card, direct debit or other financial transactions we may ask for your bank or card details. In order to input this information you will be directed to a secure page for financial transactions. For donations to the Charity you can use either the link to the Charities Aid Foundation page for Butterwick Hospice from the Donate Funds page of our web site or the homepage header. You can also donate via any link to www.justgiving.com/Butterwick.

For payments regarding merchandise, tickets for events etc you will be directed to our SagePay pages where you can make secure payments for any goods you would like to buy.

To ensure the maximum level of security is applied to your data, all transactions over the internet to and from these areas are encrypted. Credit and debit card information and bank details are not held on our web servers.

Any personal information given in payment transactions made via telephone and credit/debit cards is then securely destroyed once the payment has been completed.

Access to Your Information

Butterwick Hospice will not share your personal or financial information with any other party or company except those mentioned above for the purposes of making secure financial transactions to the Charity.

You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you by writing to the database controller. The address is Butterwick Hospice Fundraising Department, Winder House, Kingfisher Way, Preston Farm, Stockton on Tees, TS18 3EX. We will reply within 40 days of receipt of your request. Please ensure you provide enough information to help us locate your records including your name, address and post code. There is no charge for this service.

How We Use the Information We Collect

The information we collect is used in several specific ways to help us provide you with a good service and to help us understand how our web site is used.

Our website may contain links to other sites that are not owned or managed by Butterwick Hospice. Please be aware that we cannot take responsibility for any personal data you choose to enter within these external sites.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may from time to time need to update and amend this policy in light of changes in the law or developments in industry standards. Alterations to this policy will be posted on our website.
