Kayley's Story

"My name is Kayley Harvey, I am 23 years old and I have a brain tumour which was diagnosed in May 2005."

"Since September 2010 I have been a day patient of butterwick Hospice. Knowing what I know now I would have accepted the invitation come here in 2005 but sadly due to the stigma attached to the term 'hospice' I refused and missed out."

"When I did finally come as a day patient I felt I was in a black hole but over the last few months I feel lifted. That's not just from the aromatherapy and massages although they have helped but due to the continuous amounts of support from staff and volunteers and from the other patients."

Kayley has now returned to work but decided she would like to volunteer at Butterwick to help others in her situation.
