What does Butterwick Hospice mean to me?
It's a happy place, it's a sad place, there's lots of laughter and there's also lots of tears. True...sad things do happen here, but there is so much life and living here.
From the moment you walk through the door, someone cares about you, whether you're a patient, a relative or a visitor, someone...everyone in the Butterwick cares about you.
I feel very proud that the Butterwick is part of my life, it's like having a great big family around you. Whenever I needed help or advice, someone was there to give it...24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
My late wife was a fundraiser for the Butterwick, not on some grand scale, she helped by filling collection tins, but she was so pleased with the new friends she made and proud to be part of such a wonderful community, and that she could help in some way.
That's what the Butterwick does to you, makes you proud to be associated with it.
Eddie.
