Orginally a day hospice in a converted house Butterwick in Stockton today operates from a purpose built hospice providing a range of services to patients and their families.
The Hospice in Stockton currently provides In-patient facilities for up to 10 patients and comprehensive day care services for up to 20 patients per day on four days each week.
One day each week the Day Care area is dedicated to bereavement care. Butterwick's skilled staff and volunteer councellors are on hand to advise, guide and support those who have lost loved ones.
The weekly drop-in sessions have become very popular and many people meet to give each other support and to plan and share events they enjoy together.
