Butterwick Hospice at Bishop Auckland provides many services to communities around the Durham Dales area including day care, palliative home care, outreach day hospices and services to heart failure and multiple sclerosis patients. Day Care provides an opportunity for people to discuss any worries or issues with specialist doctors and nurses.
They can chat to other people in a similar situation to themselves. This can help with feelings of isolation. Day Care offers many forms of entertainment and diversional therapies such as creative and complementary therapies to help with problems such as stress or anxiety. Day Care also offers some respite to relatives and carers who can take a little time to themselves.

Outreach HospicesOur Outreach Hospices bring palliative care closer to those who need it. Hospice Day Care is offered in three community hospitals to make it easier for people to access good quality palliative care.
Palliative Home Care TeamThe Butterwick Hospice Palliative Home Care Team service is available to patients who have a life limiting illness and live anywhere in the County Durham NHS Primary Care Trusts (PCT) Durham Dales and Sedgefield localities.
