Following this success we are calling all women to join our 2009 walk along the riverside in Stockton on Saturday 11th July. Get your friends, family and colleagues together for a night out with a difference.
The sponsored walk will raise money for Butterwick Adult Hospice and Butterwick House Children’s Hospice. The adult hospice provides care and support to local people with life-limiting illnesses, and their families through the in patient unit, day care, out of hour’s service, complementary therapies, family support and counseling service. The children’s hospice provides respite and end of life care to children with short and precious lives from across the North East.
Fifteen ladies from Durham University, Queen’s Campus, Stockton took part in the walk last year in memory of their friends and colleagues, Pat Bradburn, Margaret Ritchie and Linda Bromley. Pat worked at the university campus for 10 years and was a well respected and loved member of the Central Administration Team.
Andrea Hagan from the campus said ‘’Pat bore her illness with dignity and was an inspiration to us all, taking part in the walk and raising funds for the hospice who cared for her, was a fitting tribute to her memory’’. This year the ladies from the university are continuing their support for the hospice and will be serving up the bacon sandwiches at the finish line!
You can download a map of the route here
All walkers will receive a special Midnight Walk T-Shirt, refreshments along the way and a well deserved bacon sandwich at the finish line!
So girls, why not join the fun and take part in the Butterwick Midnight Walk.
