Butterwick Hospice in Stockton has launched a new appeal to fund the building of a Family Support and Complementary Therapies Centre next to the adult and children's hospices in Stockton.
Family Support services at Butterwick include advice and guidance, counselling, spiritual and bereavement care. These services have been provided by Butterwick for 24 years. We would like to expand the provision of these services and the new centre will provide the space to do this.
Complementary Therapies in palliative care is very specialised and the Hospice has been nationally recognised for its success in this field. In 1999, the first year of providing complementary therapies as an intergral part of our services we gave 200 treatments. Last year the Hospice provided almost 5,000 treatments.
Complementary therapies are administered by skilled and qualified practioners to patients and their families. It is obvious from the figures above that demand has grown, the types of therapies we provide have grown and could grow further with the added space the new centre will provide.
The new building will help the hospice provide more services to patients of all ages and their loved ones. If you would like to learn more about the new building and how to sponsor a square foot on the building footplan please go to our dedicated website www.putyourfootinit.org.uk
