As a business, Harper's are committed to do their bit to help our local communities at both York and Billingham and are proud to have forged a corporate partnership with Butterwick Hospice in Teesside. The Hospice provides loving care to children with short and precious lives, aged from birth to 19 years old living across the North East.

Butterwick provides a service that we pray none of us will ever need, however, perhaps every one of us will have our own stories about family and friends in need of supportive care for loved ones with a terminal illness.

Harper's are already committed to supporting St Leonard's Hospice in York, so it was a natural progression to do something similar in Teesside. Being a charitable organisation Butterwick Hospice needs to raise over £3 million each year to keep it's purpose built facility running, supporting not only the patient but the families who need help to cope with the emotional difficulties of caring for a sick child. Working with the skilled staff at Butterwick are an army of volunteers who help fundraise from special events such as running a marathon to organising a tea party, buying a Butterwick Lottery ticket to committing to a gift aid donation. What we have learned is that every penny counts and in turn helps every moment to count for the children of the North East.
